Men’s Tennis Wins 5-0 Decision At Randolph

LYNCHBURG, Va. – In a match played to decision, Randolph-Macon Men's Tennis scored a 5-0 victory against the Randolph WildCats Saturday afternoon in a location-adjusted contest.

How It Happened

  • In doubles, No. 1 team of junior Grant Sarver (Richmond, Va. / Mills Godwin) and freshman Ryan Aud (Fishersville, Va. / Wilson Memorial) defeated Brandon Braud and Karson Healy 8-2.
  • No. 2 Doubles pair of seniors Jacob Haines (Springfield, Va. / West Springfield) and Shane Berry (Midlothian, Va. / James River) won 8-1 against Alex Kulvivat and Andrew Webb.
  • No. 3 Doubles duo of sophomores Alex Hein (Windermere, Fla. / Windermere Preparatory School) and Erik Moulton (Yorktown, Va. / York) swept Jose Merhej and Emad Davis 8-0.
  • In a match played to decision only, that left R-MC with a hefty 3-0 lead heading into singles play.
  • The Yellow Jackets secured the match victory with wins from Haines and Hein at No. 2 and No 3 Singles respectively.
  • Haines defeated Healy 6-1, 6-2.
  • Hein got the win against Braud 6-3, 6-2.
  • The match was played in Lynchburg after the Banks Tennis Center received too much rain for play this weekend.
