Bridgewater, Va. – The Randolph-Macon men's soccer team hit the road for an ODAC matchup with Bridgewater College on Wednesday evening. The Yellow Jackets used a couple second half goals to get past the Eagles in dominating fashion.

How it Happened
- The first half was dominated by the Yellow Jackets, totaling 13 shots and forcing five on goal, but could not find the back of the net in the first 45 minutes.
- Lots of action in the second half, as R-MC grabbed the lead in the 52nd minute off an own goal by the Eagles to put the Yellow Jackets ahead.
- Bridgewater hit the equalizer on a penalty kick in the 74th minute, but the Yellow Jackets were quick to answer as just four minutes later, Dylan Matheny (Greensboro, NC/Clover Hill) capped off his excellent performance with the game winner in the 78th minute.
- Goalkeeper Zach Fontenot (Palmyra, Va./Fluvanna County) along with a solid back wall of defense weathered the storm of two corner kicks in the second half including one in the 87th minute.
Inside the Numbers
- Fontenot had a solid day in goal, stopping each shot he faced outside of the penalty kick to earn his first career win in his first ODAC start.
- Matheny's game winner came as the first goal of his Yellow Jacket career, leading a strong R-MC attack that kept pressure on the Eagles all night.
- Defensemen Christian Gordinier (Newport, NC/Cosby) and Harrison Adams (Mechanicsville, Va./Hanover) were the spearheads of a relentless back line to push R-MC to a win.
- R-MC outshot the Eagles 25-14 overall and 9-5 on goal, dominating the game on both sides of the ball with creativity.
