Lowery Tallies 4 Goals, 6 Points for RMC Women’s Lax at SMC

ST. MARY's, Md. – Sophomore Rianna Lowery (Bel Air, Md./Notre Dame Prep) registered four goals and two assists for six points as the R-MC women's lacrosse team fell 17-14 at St. Mary's (Md.) on Wednesday evening.

How It Happened

  • The Seahawks netted the first four goals of the game before Lowery scored on a pass from junior Annie Bartley (Richmond, Va./Mills Godwin) with seven minutes remaining in the first period. After two more SMC goals, junior Amelia Davis (Davidsonville, Md./South River) scored on a pass from freshman Elaina Creekmore (Pasadena, Md./Old Mill) as RMC trailed 6-2 after one period.
  • SMC had the first two goals of the second period before senior Kayla Ross (Gambrills, Md./Arundel) finished on a pass from Lowery and sophomore Evie McNeally (Severna Park, Md./Archbishop Spalding) added an unassisted goal as the Yellow Jackets trailed 8-4 at intermission.
  • SMC had four of the first five goals in the third quarter to take a 12-5 lead before five straight scores by the Yellow Jackets made it 12-10. Lowery had two goals in the period.
  • McNeally scored 18 seconds into the final quarter on a pass from Lowery as RMC pulled within one at 12-11. The Seahawks would have the next three goals to go up 15-11 before Lowery scored to make it 15-12. SMC got the next two goals before Bartley and McNeally had the final two scored to make the final 17-14.
