
ASHLAND, Va. -- Randolph-Macon women's tennis finished off a non-conference matchup with a 7-2 win against York College. The Yellow Jackets swept doubles for 3-point lead heading into singles play. Freshmen Camilla Thurman (Knoxville, Tenn./Knoxville Catholic) and Catherine Mowry (Lynchburg, Va./Liberty Christian Academy) pulled out a close first doubles match in a tiebreaker 8-7(4). In singles play, Grace Holderman (Roanoke, Va./Cave Spring) cruised through the 2 singles and Catherine Mowry secured the victory with a 6-1 7-5 win at 3rd singles. The Jackets and Spartans split two 3rd set tiebreakers in singles play which left the final score 7-2. RMC is now 5-2 Heading into next Wednesday's contest against ODAC rival Bridgewater College.
